The course deals with selected topics on multiphase flow and its application in the design of piping and other process equipment. Emphasis is placed on the basic characteristics of gas/liquid two-phase flow. The basic areas covered are: · Multi-phase flow fundamentals - Basic equations of homogeneous two-phase gas/liquid flow · Flow regimes (e.g. stratified, annular, slug and bubbly flow). · Estimation of two phase flow parameters (e.g. pressure drop, holdup, entrainment). · Measurements of two-phase flow parameters (e.g. flow regimes, pressure drop, holdup) |
