Water purification membrane processes as a function of the average pore size of the membrane layer |
In the laboratory parallel or consecutive absorption and ultra- or nano- filtration processes are being developed for the removal of arsenic and chromium ions from potable water streams
.
Indicative Applications (Social Drivers: Health, Environment)
End point of use or small and medium size treatment technologies for the removal of toxic ions from water.
Removal of dangerous (e.g. salmonella) bacterial that may develop in water loop systems (e.g. hotels).
Recycling of light waste water from special industries such as grinding sections of solids processing industries, car-wash industries etc.
Cooperations
The research is conducted in cooperation with the Laboratory of Renewable Energy Sources of the Chemical Process Engineering Research Institute and the University of Alicante in Spain.
